Jojutsu: The art of the stick
The stick (Jo), the long stick (Bo), the short sticks (Shugi) and even the spear (Yari) go back to the same basis in their handling. Even in the Stone Age, people used sticks to defend themselves or to attack. The art of the stick in the Japanese tradition is the oldest form of weapon art that has been handed down, so we decided to start with this one.
There are countless other ways of guiding and handling the stick. Whether the Chinese or the Filipino tradition – they all have their place. It cannot be ruled out that we will also offer training courses for these types in the future.
Here you will learn step by step, structured from lesson to lesson, the basics (Kiso), the basic techniques (Kihon) and the higher level, the old style (Koryu) of Japanese stick art.
The Sobudo Academy team wish you lots of fun and success.
